The three- cushion world cup 1994/4 was the 2nd BWA world cup tournament in the ninth year of the three-cushion world cup. The tournament took place from September 27 to October 2, 1994 in this discipline of carom billiards in Oosterhout . It was the sixth three-cushion World Cup tournament in the Netherlands.

history

The World Cup tournament in Oosterhout in the Netherlands ended with a sensation. After a mixed start with wins against Arie Weyenburg and a very strong Ben Velthuis in the first round, Pilss reached the quarter-finals. From now on there were only absolute world class opponents. After winning the first set, Raymond Ceulemans was the first to drop the sails with a 1: 3 set defeat. Next up was the current overall World Cup winner. Sang Chun Lee , who played an average of 2,432 so far, could not stop Pilss either and lost with 1: 3 sets. After a fourth place in 1991 in Palma de Mallorca, Pilss had already achieved his best World Cup result. In a thrilling final, which Christoph Pilss won in the fifth set in seven shots 15:14, he was able to receive the winner's check at the end of a tournament for the first time. Christoph Pilss beat number 3, number 2 and then number 1 in the world rankings one after the other.

The victory is to be rated even higher because he had beaten the new "world record man", because Torbjörn Blomdahl set a new world record in the general average (GD) at this tournament with 2.250 and equalized the only one week old world record in the best individual average ( BED) of 3.214 . This was Dick Jaspers situated in Istanbul.

The exact price money could not be determined from the documents. However, as in all BWA World Cup tournaments, it was at least 100,000 DM.
