history

The very talented 25-year-old Swede Torbjörn Blomdahl already won his second World Cup tournament . With all tournament best performances, he also improved the World Cup records in the general average (GD) to 1.728 and in the best individual average (BED) to 2.093. In the final he defeated the record world champion Raymond Ceulemans with 3-1 sets. Only in the second set, which Ceulemans won 15: 6, he had small problems. Ex world champion Ludo Dielis was also very strong . He played very good averages throughout the tournament and came third with the second best GD. The German participant Dieter Müller failed in the quarter-finals as in Paris against the Dutchman Rini van Bracht . Van Bracht won his best World Cup game of 2,045 with 3-0 sets.
