The three- cushion world cup 1997/7 was the second BWA world cup tournament in the twelfth year of the three-cushion world cup. The tournament took place from November 26th to 30th, 1997 in this discipline of carom billiards in Antalya . It was the sixth three-cushion World Cup tournament in Turkey.

history

The tournament in Antalya was the first BWA World Cup tournament for which UMB players were also officially admitted. The transmission of the results from Antalya was very poor. Thus, no points and recordings could be determined in the final table. There were no results at all from the qualification, in which 103 players took part. Dick Jaspers clearly won the tournament with 3-0 sets against Torbjörn Blomdahl . Third place went to Spaniard Daniel Sánchez and Austrian Andreas Efler . Efler eliminated three German participants on the way to the semi-finals, in which he was defeated by the eventual winner. Turkish television broadcast around 30 hours of this World Cup tournament.

The exact price money could not be determined from the documents.

Tournament mode

The World Cup tournament was played as an open tournament. From a pre-qualification with a maximum of 124 participants, 10 participants qualify for the 1/16 finals.
