history

Before this World Cup tournament, some changes were made by the UMB. From now on, the world ranking points will be redistributed. The prize money was also fixed for all tournaments. 120 participants had registered for the tournament. 4 then canceled, so that the game was played with 116 participants. The leaders in the overall World Cup rankings prevailed in Seville up to the semi-finals. The exception was Dick Jaspers , who lost in the round of 16 against a well-playing Kim Kyung-roul from Korea. The final was played by Frédéric Caudron and local hero Daniel Sánchez . Caudron won relatively safely with 3: 1 sets. The two leaders, Semih Saygıner and Torbjörn Blomdahl , finished third together.
