The three- cushion world cup 2000/1 was the first UMB / BWA world cup tournament in the 15th year of the three-cushion world cup. The tournament took place in 2000 in this discipline of carom billiards in the Colombian capital Bogotá . It was the second three-cushion World Cup tournament in Bogotá.

history

The first three-cushion World Cup tournament, once again marked by disagreements between the BWA and the UMB, ended with the third World Cup victory of the Turkish world-class player Semih Saygıner . He had few problems until the semi-finals. The same goes for Torbjörn Blomdahl . In both semifinals it was then over five sets. Ultimately, these two games also saw sure winners. As a favorite, however, Blomdahl went to the final, which was broadcast live on Colombian television and had around three million viewers. Saygıner took the lead with 2-1 sets. Then Blomdahl dominated the match and was always in the lead. At 14:11 in the fifth set, he missed the match point. With four difficult points, "Mister Magic", the Turk's nickname, was able to end the match and he improved back to fourth place in the current world rankings.

The exact price money could not be determined from the documents.
