The three- cushion world cup 1990/4 was the 4th world cup tournament in the fifth year of the three- cushion world cup. It took place from November 29th to December 2nd, 1990 in this discipline of carom billiards in Norrköping in Sweden . It was the first three-cushion World Cup tournament in Sweden.
history
After many disappointments in recent years, Raymond Ceulemans is making an impressive return to this World Cup season. After his victory in Paris, he won his second tournament and took the lead in the overall World Cup. Only against his worst opponent of the last twenty years, Nobuaki Kobayashi , he had to tremble in the round of 16 after a 2-0 set deficit. Ceulemans won the next three sets with 15:10, 15:13 and 15:13. Ceulemans won against the outstanding player of recent years Torbjörn Blomdahl with a class performance of 3: 2 sets and a very good average of 2,240 . In the final there was a smooth 3-0 win against Richard Bitalis, who played very well this year .

^ Heinrich Weingartner: Billiards . No. 31 . Vienna January 1991, p. 17-19 .
The three-cushion World Cup was organized by the founding association, the "
Billiards Worldcup Association " (BWA) until 1998 . Disputes between the BWA and the world association
Union Mondiale de Billard (UMB) led to parallel tournaments between 1994 and 1997. The UMB / BWA organized the tournament together until the beginning of 1999. Since the dissolution of the BWA in 1999, the UMB has been the sole organizer.
From 1988-1991 the UMB did not host any world championships. During this time, the annual overall winner of the World Cup was crowned world champion.
