The three- cushion world cup 1998/10 was the ninth and last UMB / BWA world cup tournament in the thirteenth year of the three-cushion world cup. The tournament took place from December 8th to 13th, 1998 in this discipline of carom billiards in Roermond in the Dutch province of Limburg. It was the first three-cushion World Cup tournament in Roermond.

history

In the last World Cup tournament of the year, three more players had a chance of winning the overall World Cup. The best was Dutchman Dick Jaspers with 285 points ahead of Torbjörn Blomdahl , who had 265 points. For Semih Saygıner , some things had to go very well. With 256 points, his deficit was a bit bigger. In the first round only Saygıner had problems against the French Richard Bitalis . He had to make up a 2-0 set deficit. In the end, it succeeded very confidently. He won Set Five 15-1 in three runs. In the second round, Blomdahl and Saygıner had few problems. Only Jaspers had to fight the strong US Korean Sang Chun Lee . After he was able to make up for the set deficit twice, he lost the fifth set at 11:15 in nine shots at the home World Cup. For the overall World Cup it would still be enough if Blomdahl were eliminated in the quarter-finals. The Austrian Andreas Efler was the opponent. Despite a good performance, he lost the fourth set with 14:15 and Blomdahl was overall World Cup winner for the seventh time. In the final against Frédéric Caudron he lost 3 sets 0-3, but all three sets were close.
