The three- cushion world cup 2000/2 was the second and last UMB / BWA world cup tournament in the 15th year of the three-cushion world cup. The tournament took place from December 12th to 17th, 2000 in this discipline of carom billiards in Oosterhout . It was the ninth three-cushion World Cup tournament in Oosterhout.
history
Due to the fact that various BWA World Cup tournaments were not held, the second in 2000 was also the last. For the overall World Cup, 2001 was included in the evaluation. The tournament in Oosterhout was won by the record World Cup winner Torbjörn Blomdahl . With this victory, he again took the top position in the world rankings. There were no surprises in the first round of the tournament. In the round of 16, the current leader in the world rankings Dick Jaspers had to admit defeat to his compatriot Raimond Burgman. The second Semih Saygıner was defeated by the American Sang Chun Lee . In the semifinals, Blomdahl and Daniel Sánchez still had a chance at the new number one. Due to the defeat against Dion Nelin, the Spaniard missed his chance. In the final, in which Blomdahl had to keep running behind in the fifth set, the Dane showed nerves at the end. With his first World Cup victory in mind, he made a few mistakes and so the Swede destroyed the Dane's hopes with a final series of five points.
The exact price money could not be determined from the documents.
Tournament mode

^ Heinrich Weingartner: Billiards . No. 131 . Vienna January 2001, p. 32-35 .
The three-cushion World Cup was organized by the founding association, the "
Billiards Worldcup Association " (BWA) until 1998 . Disputes between the BWA and the world association
Union Mondiale de Billard (UMB) led to parallel tournaments between 1994 and 1997. The UMB / BWA organized the tournament together until the beginning of 1999. Since the dissolution of the BWA in 1999, the UMB has been the sole organizer.
From 1988-1991 the UMB did not host any world championships. During this time, the annual overall winner of the World Cup was crowned world champion.
