biography

Katharina Truppe comes from Altfinkenstein , where she grew up on her parents' farm. She learned to ski at the age of four. It starts for the ASKÖ ESV St. Veit / Glan .

In 2013 Truppe took part in the European Youth Winter Games in Poiana Brașov , but retired in both giant slalom and slalom in the first round. After she had already performed well in FIS races, she made her European Cup debut on January 20, 2014 . This was followed by victories in the Australian New Zealand Cup and a highly successful 2014/15 European Cup season , in which she won a race and finished second in the slalom classification. In the same winter she won the bronze medal in slalom at the Junior World Championships in Hafjell .

Truppe made their World Cup debut on January 13, 2015 in the Flachau slalom . In the same season, two more missions followed in slalom, but they did not bring a run to the finish. After the end of the season, she finished second behind Carmen Thalmann at the Austrian Slalom Championships . Due to her European Cup success, she was accepted into the A-squad of the ÖSV before the start of the 2015/16 season . In the World Cup, she confirmed this by scoring points for the first time in Aspen with slalom rank 14. After she had achieved two more top results with 13th place in the Åre slalom and 15th place in the giant slalom in Courchevel , on December 29th she made it into the top ten of a World Cup race for the first time in the Lienz slalom with ninth place.

After a constant 2016/17 season with three top 10 results, including sixth place in Flachau , she took part in the World Championship in St. Moritz . She finished fifth with the team, fell in the giant slalom and suffered a minor shin injury. In the slalom she reached 19th place. At the 2019 World Championships in Åre , she won the silver medal with the Austrian team. On November 23, 2019 Truppe finished third in the Levi slalom and thus achieved their first podium result in a World Cup race.
