Wilfried Grunau (2012)

Wilfried Grunau (born May 28, 1958 in Aurich ) is a German engineer and geodesist . Grunau has been honorary president of the Association of German Surveying Engineers ( VDV) since 1993 and, since 2014, also honorary president of the Central Association of Engineering Associations (ZBI). In 2011 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit.

Life

Wilfried Grunau, grew up in Aurich / East Friesland, studied surveying at the Oldenburg University of Applied Sciences and initially worked in Hanover at the Lower Saxony State Administration Office, Land Surveying Department (today: State Office for Geoinformation and Land Surveying Lower Saxony (LGLN)). In 1992 he switched to the Oldenburg University of Applied Sciences, department of surveying, as a research assistant (today: Jade University , department of construction and geoinformation). In 2003 he became head of the presidential office of the then Oldenburg / Ostfriesland / Wilhelmshaven University of Applied Sciences (today: University of Applied Sciences Emden / Leer ) and has also been press spokesman for the University of Emden / Leer since March 2009 . In the years 2007–2009, Grunau played a key role in the successful application of the City of Oldenburg for the title City of Science as a member of the campaign team . Grunau is married and has two children.

Volunteering

Association of German surveying engineers

Wilfried Grunau has been a member of the Verband Deutscher Vermessungsingenieure (VDV) e. V. From 1990 to 1993 he was state chairman of the VDV Lower Saxony. Since 1993 he has been honorary president of the VDV Federal Association. Grunau is a co-initiator and co-founder of the Geodesy Interest Group (IGG).

Central association of engineering associations

Since 1993 Grunau has been on the main board of the Central Association of Engineering Associations (ZBI) e. V. at. He was elected one of the four vice-presidents in 1999 and from 2000 also took over the editor-in-chief of ZBI-Nachrichten ( ISSN  0177-1698 ). Grunau has been honorary president of the ZBI since 2014.

European Group of Surveyors

From 1994 to 1998 Wilfried Grunau was President of the European Group of Surveyors (EGoS), the European umbrella association for surveying engineers, which he founded in 1992. In this function he was co-initiator of an intergroup of members of the European Parliament, the so-called Crane Intergroup (comparable to the non-partisan discussion group for engineers and scientists in the Bundestag ).

Techniker Krankenkasse

From 2005 to 2017 Wilfried Grunau was an honorary member of the board of directors of Techniker Krankenkasse (TK). In this capacity he was u. a. Chairman of the building and property committee, member of the finance committee and the social policy committee of the administrative board and deputy member of the administrative board of the umbrella association of the German health insurance funds . Since September 29, 2017, Grunau has been a deputy member of the administrative board and chairman of the objection committee G of the Techniker Krankenkasse.
