Nas, Foxy Brown, AZ, and Nature Present The Firm: The Album was a one-off project by hip-hop crew The Firm . The group was active from 1996 to 1998 and consisted of the four New York rappers Nas , Foxy Brown , AZ and Nature . The group was founded primarily by Nas Escobar (that's what Nas was called at the time), his manager Steve Stoute and Dr. Dre .

As a group, The Firm first appeared on Na's album It Was Written on the song "Affirmative Action". At that time, Queensbridge rapper Cormega was the fourth member of the crew, he was later replaced by Nature, which led to disputes. Cormega and Nas friendship ended from then on and Cormega released the Diss track "Fuck Nas and Nature". The beef dragged on for several years, but then ended in 2001.

The basic idea of ​​The Firm was to help newcomers get started in the rap game . In 1997 the album was released via Dr. Dres label released Aftermath and Interscope Records and was a complete success in terms of sales and landed in the American charts at number 1. The critics rated the album negatively. A few months later, the group broke up and all members continued their solo careers.
