Nastradamus is Na's fourth official album for Columbia Records . It was released in November 1999. The title is derived from the French prophet Nostradamus . Nas liked the name so much that he replaced the first three letters of his own first name with Nos, from which Nastradamus is formed. Nastradamus was originally supposed to be released as a double album together with I Am… , but this never came about due to piracy. Nastradamus is often considered his worst compared to Nas' other albums. It is obvious that Nas wanted to make the leap into the mainstream with this album, but it flopped. In the end, Nastradamus got 3.5 mics from The Source and was verified with platinum.
