Dorothée Nashan

Dorothée Nashan (born Küper, born April 14, 1958 in Bocholt , North Rhine-Westphalia ) is a German dermatologist , university professor and director of the Dermatology Clinic at the Dortmund Clinic , which is the academic teaching hospital of the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . The constant focus of interest and research in her work as a dermatologist is clinical training, the development of the next generation as well as clinical research, particularly on dermatooncology and associated topics such as psychosocial care.

Life

Dorothée Nashan studied human medicine at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf . In 1986 she received her license to practice medicine . She then did her doctorate at the Institute for Physiological Chemistry (headed by Wolfgang Staib) under the doctoral supervisor Martin Schwenen on the subject of "In-vitro studies on the physiological significance of glucose and lactate for the reconstruction of muscle glycogen after workloads in normal and diabetic rats". Ms. Nashan completed her doctoral thesis with the grade magna cum laude . From 1986 to 1989 she was a scholarship holder of the Max Planck Society and the German Research Foundation at the Max Planck Institute for Reproductive Medicine in Münster (Head: Eberhard Nieschlag ). A subsequent research stay at the Harvard Medical School in Boston in the Research Lab for Reproductive Medicine (headed by Deborah Anderson) was followed by specialist training, which finally passed into senior physician management with a focus on oncology in the dermatology clinic at Münster University Hospital (clinic director Thomas Luger).

After qualifying as a specialist, Nashan acquired additional qualifications for allergology , phlebology , drug tumor therapy , palliative medicine and the professional dermatology certificate from the Association for Professional and Environmental Dermatology.

In 2001, the Venia Legendi was awarded for the subject of dermatology and venereology based on experimental work on the subject of "Male infertility: analysis and evaluation of immunological phenomena through in-vivo studies on a mouse model compared to human tissue." Then Dorothée Nashan joined in 2004 a rehabilitation as a senior physician at the Department of Dermatology and Venereology at the University Medical Center Freiburg (Clinic Director: Leena Bruckner-Tuderman ). There she took over the W3 professorship substitution for Leena Bruckner-Tuderman from 2008 to 2011 . Dorothée Nashan has been Director of the Dermatology Clinic at the Dortmund Clinic since 2011 . She continues to carry out her teaching license and research projects etc. a. in association with the University Dermatology Clinic Freiburg.

Focus

Nashan's interests and research focus are on clinical training, the development of the next generation and clinical research, especially on dermatooncology and associated topics such as psychosocial care. She personally represents the training authorizations for dermatology and venereology as well as drug tumor therapy. In addition, Ms. Nashan takes part in mentoring programs, heads the working group women in dermatology and is a member of the board of the German Dermatological Society (DDG) on the subject of promoting young talent. In terms of training and further education, she was editor for the section of the CME articles on the training curriculum in dermatology in the specialist journal of the German Dermatological Society (JDDG, 2014-2019) for five years. Further commitment is shown in the cooperation in the ethics committee of the Medical Association of Westphalia-Lippe and the Westphalian Wilhelms University of Münster as well as in the committee of the National Conference on Skin Cancer Care and in the advisory board of the Skin Cancer Network Germany eV
