Nathaniel Semple

Nathaniel Meacrom Semple (born October 22, 1876 in Liberty , Missouri , † October 3, 1913 in St. Louis , Missouri) was an American tennis player .

biography

Semple attended William Jewell College in his native Liberty. He studied medicine at Washington University in St. Louis . He continued his studies at the University of Kiel in 1900 and 1901 and at the University of Paris in 1902. His specialty was eye diseases.

He participated in the 1904 Summer Olympics in St. Louis in the tennis competition. In the singles he beat George Stadel at the beginning before he lost to Wilfred Blatherwick in the second round. He competed in doubles with Malcolm MacDonald . They were defeated at the beginning with two game wins Dwight Filley Davis and Ralph McKittrick .

Semple died in 1913 from complications with his diabetes .
