Martin National Cemetery
The Martin National Cemetery ( Národný cintorín v Martine in Slovak ) is the final resting place of various leading Slovak personalities. It is located in the city of Martin on Sklabinská Street, a few minutes' walk from the center. The choice of Martin as a location goes back to its history as the center of the Slovak national movement ( Matica slovenská ) in the 19th century.
The cemetery has been listed as a national cultural monument since 1961.
