The National Park Brasília is a November 29, 1961, in the period shortly after the founding of the new capital, established National Park in the Brazilian Federal District 12 km northwest of Brasilia in Brazil and has km² size of 423.8. The park stretches over parts of the administrative regions Plano Piloto , Brazlândia , Sobradinho in the Federal District and the already in Goiás lying Padre Bernardo . The main entrance is on the Estrada Parque Indústria e Abastecimento (EPIA) bypass around Brasilia.

The park is managed by the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation ( Instituto Chico Mendes de Conservação da Biodiversidade , ICMBio). The landscape in the park is part of the Chapada da Contagem and is home to flora and fauna typical of Cerrado . The vegetation includes the different types of cerrado such as gallery forests ( mata de galeria pantanosa and mata de galeria nicht pantanosa ), vereda , cerrado sensu stricto , cerradão , mata seca , campo sujo , campo limpo , campo rupestre , campo úmido and campo de murundus . The wildlife includes among others the maned wolf , the giant armadillo , the Giant anteaters , the ocelot , the Brazilian Porcupine , Akodom lindberg , the Dalmatian-cyanocorax and the yellow-faced parrot . The park is home to the Represa de Santa Maria reservoir, which is fed by spring rivers in the park and which provides 25% of the capital's drinking water supply. The source rivers in the park are tributaries to the Rio Paranoá . The main attraction are the two swimming pools, which are fed with water from the headwaters in the park. There is also a visitor center and the two hiking and educational trails Trilha da Capivara (20 min) and Trilha do Cristal Água (5 km). An extension of the Trilha do Cristal Água to 15 km has also been accessible by bike since March 2016.
