Natural Monument Diabase Cliffs In The Strolle

The natural monument Diabasklippen In der Strolle with a size of 1.04 hectares is located east of Niedersfeld in the urban area of Winterberg . The area was designated as a natural monument (ND) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 2008 with the Winterberg landscape plan . In addition, it is partly a legally protected biotope according to § 62 of the Landscape Act North Rhine-Westphalia with the designation GB-4716-073 and a size of 0.17 ha.

The road to the Neuer Hagen divides the ND into a western and an eastern area. Small diabase rocks can be seen in both areas . The rocks are partly sparsely overgrown. On the larger western rock there is a cross with a lookout point. Remnants of dwarf shrub heather can also be seen here. The rocks are partly covered with bushes.
