The Papuk Nature Park has been a protected area in Croatia since April 23, 1999 . It is located in the Papuk mountain range of the same name and was built to preserve the quiet and living nature that is characteristic of Central Slavonia . The emphasis is placed on aesthetic, ecological, cultural and touristic values ​​as well as education and recreation. The nature park is primarily intended to preserve the heterogeneity of nature and to explore it more closely. Those in charge of the Papuk Nature Park are dedicated to the more efficient protection of rare and endangered species.

In 2007 was Geopark Papuk by the UNESCO in the Association of European Geoparks inaugurated .
