The Notzingermoos nature reserve is located in the Upper Bavarian district of Erding , in the municipality of Oberding , south of the ED7 district road ( halfway from Notzing to Goldach ), immediately south-east of the town of Notzingermoos . It has a size of 138.9 ha and is registered under NSG-00494.01.

The Erdinger Moos once had extensive moss areas, but only remnants have survived. In particular, the construction of the Munich airport (opened in 1992) led to significant changes and lowering of the groundwater level.

The nature reserve is predominantly forested, largely through deciduous trees - mainly birch forests. But there are also ash trees and willows, occasionally oaks. The wood is repeatedly interrupted by clearings and meadows. There are numerous bushes (also large areas) to be found, with elderberries being very common . But there are also large areas of old wood and a number of wetlands .

On the eastern edge of the nature reserve is the Gfallach brook .
