Neil Chayet

Neil Lewis Chayet (born  January 17, 1939 in Boston - †  August 11, 2017 in Salem , Massachusetts ) was an American lawyer .

In the USA, Chayet was best known for his weekday CBS radio series Looking at the Law (German, for example, look at the law ; one minute at a time; first broadcast on April 1, 1976 on WEEI in Boston ; ended on June 30, 2017 ).

Chayet graduated from Tufts University ( BA 1960) and Harvard Law School ( JD 1963). As chairman of the Chayet Communications Group, Inc. , he has advised in particular in the areas of health, education, energy and telecommunications law. He has worked for various law firms in Boston and Washington DC. He has also taught forensic medicine at Harvard Medical School and Tufts University. At times, he was also Vice President of the Republican Party Organizing Committee for Massachusetts.

Neil Chayet was married to Susan Chayet; they have three children together (Michael, Lisa and Ely). Most recently he was married to Martha M. Chayet. After buying the Joseph Story house, they moved from Manchester-by-the-Sea to Salem in 2005 , where he died of small cell carcinoma in 2017 at the age of 78 .
