Nekrogoblikon is an American melodic death metal band from California, founded in 2006 . The group began in Palo Alto and was then completed at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). The band frequently performs in Los Angeles and the Southern California area and has an established following there.
history
Founding and Goblin Island (2006-2010)
Nekrogoblikon began as a summer project by Tim Lyakhovetskiy and Nicholas Von Doom in 2006. Lyakhovetskiy and Von Doom recorded the album Goblin Island themselves in Tim's garage in Palo Alto. When Lyakhovetskiy returned to Santa Barbara , he made it his business to turn Nekrogoblikon into a live band. He hired Alex Duddy and Ashleigh Carracino to take on Von Doom's vocal and keyboard roles, while Spencer Bartz, Alex Alereza and Austin Nickel took on drums, guitar and bass. After eleven appearances, including at the "Headbang-for-the-Highway" band competition for " Whiskey a Go Go " in Hollywood , Spencer moved to Japan . Eddie Trager, a friend and former bandmate of Alereza and Nickel, took over the drums in September 2007. Other changes followed as members left university or turned to other projects.
Stench (2011-2012)
On July 19, 2011, the band released the album Stench with 12 tracks. In September 2012 they released the music video for No One Survives , directed by Brandon Dermer, which was viewed 1.5 million times in the first three months. In 2012 Anthony Delorenzi was replaced on keyboard by Aaron Minich. In June 2013 Nekrogoblikon performed at the Download Festival in Great Britain, Rock am Ring , Rock im Park and other European festivals.
Power (2013)
On August 27, 2013, the band released Power . The Kerrang! -Magazine gave the EP 5 out of 5 stars. Power was produced by Nekrogoblikon and mixed by Matt Hyde ( Deftones , Children of Bodom ).

Surname
The name of the band comes from the main themes Goblins - and the Necronomicon from HP Lovecraft's Cthulhu myth . The band's pieces are dark and show influences from Children of Bodom , Finntroll and 3 Inches of Blood .
