The Nellohütte is one of the hiking club Nello e. V. managed refuge in the Palatinate Forest . The hut is located at an altitude of 392 m above sea level. NHN within the district of Rhodt unter Rietburg .
location
The hut is located at the source of the Meisentalbach, not far from the Kohlplatz pass ( 465.9 m above sea level ). The Meisentalbach is a left tributary of the Modenbach . The Meisenbach valley is bounded in the northwest by the Kesselberg (662 m) and in the southeast by the Blättersberg ( 613.2 m above sea level ).

The original Nello hut from 1923 is still preserved below today's hiking home.
Access and walks
The hut can only be reached on foot. The shortest access is from a hiking car park in Modenbachtal for about 2 km up in Meisenbachtal. The hut can also be reached from the hiking car park in the Edenkobener Valley at the Edenkobener Hut at the Hüttenbrunnen via the Kohlplatz pass. Further access is possible from the hiking car park at the top of the Lolosruhe pass ( 573.8 m ) via Benderplatz ( 565.5 m ) and Kohlplatz ( 465.9 m ). Hiking destinations near the hut are the Frankenfelsen on the Frankenberg ( 557 m above sea level ) with the sparse remains of the Frankenburg , the Kesselberg (662 m), the second highest mountain in the Palatinate Forest after the Kalmit ( 672.6 m ), and the Blättersberg ( 618 m ) with the Ludwigsturm ( 605 m ). The neighboring huts of the Palatinate Forest Association are the Amicitia hut , the Edenkobener hut, the Schweizerhaus and the Waldhaus Drei Buchen .
