Nelson Ferreira is a sound engineer .

Life

Ferreira began his career on the film staff in 1992 in the post-production of the thriller Bloody Harvest by director David Marconi . As a result, he worked on numerous B-movies , some without naming their names in the credits. He has also worked for television and direct-to-video productions such as From Dusk Till Dawn 2 - Texas Blood Money and From Dusk Till Dawn 3 - The Hangman's Daughter . Ferreira has been nominated for numerous Canadian film awards. He has won the Canadian Screen Award twice, as well as numerous DGC Craft Awards from the Directors Guild of Canada. He received the Gemini Award in 2008 and was nominated for the Genie Award in 2009. In 2018 Ferreira was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Sound Editing for Guillermo del Toro's fantasy drama Shape of Water together with Nathan Robitaille , but this year the award went to Christopher Nolan's war film Dunkirk .
