Location of the Neuendorfer See on the northern edge of the Spreewald

The Neuendorfer See is a lake in the Unterspreewald in Brandenburg .

The approximately 300 hectare lake is traversed by the Spree . It flows into its southern end and flows off on the east side, south of Alt-Schadow . The average water depth of the lake, which is part of the Spreewald Biosphere Reserve, is 2.8 meters. In addition to Alt Schadow on the east bank, the eponymous place Neuendorf am See in the southwest of the lake is the only place on the lake. The lake belongs to the Unterspreewald municipality . The banks are flat and characterized by many bays. In the area there are larger pine forests. The lake is developed for tourism through camping sites.

The Neuendorfer See also serves the fishing industry . Common fish species found in the lake are bream and roach . Also eel , chub , grass carp , bream , pike , crucian carp , carp , burbot , asp , rudd , tench , bleak , catfish and perch are found.
