The place is about 4.5 km south of the city center on the heights of the Voreifel in the Ahr Mountains directly on the border with Rhineland-Palatinate . Neighboring towns are in the south-east Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler , south-west Bad Münstereifel , north-west Euskirchen and north-east Meckenheim .
