Neukloster ( Low German Neeklooster ) is a district of Buxtehude in the Lower Saxony district of Stade .
geography
The place is west of the core town of Buxtehude and east of the Buxtehude district of Hedendorf on the B 73 .
To the south of the village is the Neukloster Forst .
The eastern part of Neukloster is also called Heitmannshausen .
history
Neukloster takes its name from the Benedictine convent of St. Maria and Johannes Evangelist , which was founded in Neuenkirchen in 1274 and moved here in 1286. In contrast to the Old Monastery , it was called the New Monastery .
Neukloster was incorporated on July 1, 1972.
In Hedendorf and Neukloster there are still local councils with local mayors elected from their midst, in the other localities of Buxtehude there are local councilors who are supposed to represent the interests of the citizens from the localities in the city council and to the city administration.

Folk festivals
- The largest Whitsun market in northern Germany takes place in Neukloster every year, and the busy B 73 is completely closed over Whitsun .
- Every year on Thanksgiving Sunday, the harvest festival takes place in the parish garden of the St. Marien Church in Neukloster. The organizer is the Trachtenverein Neukloster from 1989 .
Sports
The football club VSV Hedendorf / Neukloster has been playing in the sixth class Lüneburg regional league since the 2019/20 season .

The busy B 73 leads through Neukloster. To the north there is a connection to the A 26 .
The place also has a train station that is connected to the Hamburg S-Bahn line S3, which runs in the direction of Stade and Pinneberg .
