history

In 1947 the Neulandschulsiedlung association rented the former Eucharist monastery building, which had been damaged by the war, and began to rebuild the building. The former Konvikt was set up as a boarding school and pupils were able to attend schools in Vienna from there. With the director Eduard Foltin, two classes at an elementary school started in 1948 as a branch of the Neulandschule Grinzing . A secondary school was set up in 1950 with the director Josef Reichard. From 1952 to 1954 the Villa Mendelssohn in Rindbach in Ebensee was rented as a summer school and for country school weeks. From 1954 to 1964 the former Hotel Bauer in Bad Ischl was rented as a school and boarding school building with a large park area, in which elementary school classes and the lower grades of a secondary school were held. In 1950, director Fritz Hamp founded a secondary school with the lower level as an expositur in Bad Ischl and the upper level as a secondary school on the Laaerberg. From 1967 the secondary school was gradually closed and the lower level of the Realgymnasium was built on the Laaerberg instead. Land was acquired from 1959 and the former Eucharist monastery was also bought in 1972.

From 1972 to 1974 the school was expanded with a gym and classrooms. Based on a resolution of the Vienna Diocesan Synod 1969–1971, the Archbishop Cardinal Franz König founded the Neuland Schools institute with an establishment decree . In 1984 Auxiliary Bishop Helmut Krätzl was appointed rector of the Neulandschulen institute. From 1994 to 1997 there was a further expansion of the school, which was consecrated in 1997 by Auxiliary Bishop Helmut Krätzl. In 1995 a secondary school and today's cooperative middle school was started again.

Rectorate Church

Rectorate Church

The monastery church of Mary Mother of Mercy (1929–1947) of the Eucharist and former parish church of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament (1937–1986) as a simple hall church with an apse in neo-Romanesque style is structurally connected to the former monastery with its current use as a new land school. Both were built from 1928 to 1929 according to the plans of the architect Bruno Buchwieser senior , although only the western wing of a symmetrically planned monastery was built. The simple facade has an aedicula portal . The gallery is located above the vestibule with three carved wooden doors from the construction period. The gallery faces the nave with arched arcades. The three-bay hall has a wooden beam ceiling. A statute shows the founder of the congregation, Father Pierre Julien Eymard , with the attribute monstrance in his hands.
