Nicholas Jarecki (born June 25, 1979 in New York City , New York ) is an American screenwriter , film director and film producer who became internationally known for films such as Informers and Arbitrage - Power is the best alibi .

life and career

Born in New York City in 1979, Nicholas Jarecki has worked in the film business in various roles since the mid-2000s. In 2005 he directed the documentary The Outsider for which Jarecki also acted as a screenwriter and producer. In 2008 he wrote the screenplay for the crime drama Informers , filmed by director Gregor Jordan with Billy Bob Thornton , Kim Basinger and Mickey Rourke in the leading roles. A year later, Jarecki shot a short film with Phillip Jordan called The Weight .

In 2012 Nicholas Jarecki then directed his first own feature film, for which he also wrote the screenplay, as a director with Arbitrage - Power is the Best Alibi , a thriller with Richard Gere , Susan Sarandon and Brit Marling in the lead roles. At the Chicago Film Critics Association Awards 2012 , he received a nomination for Most Promising Filmmaker for his work on Arbitrage . Another feature film entitled Dreamland with the cast of Gary Oldman , Armie Hammer and Evangeline Lilly is already in preparation for 2020 .
