Nico Kibat (born February 8, 1980 in Rendsburg ) is a former German handball player who currently works as a coach.

Career

Kibat started playing handball at HSG Schülp / Westerrönfeld. In 1995 the 1.91 meter tall back player moved to the THW Kiel , where he played in the A-youth and won the NOHV championship. Later he played in the senior division for the second team of the THW; in the 1998/1999 season he made two short appearances in the 1st Bundesliga . In the following season he played a total of 20 games in the Bundesliga. In these two seasons the right-hander won the German championship and the DHB cup with the THW.

From the summer of 2000 Kibat played for the second division TSV Altenholz , with the second game right for the THW. Two years later he moved to Stralsund HV , with whom he was promoted to the Bundesliga in 2003. After the season in the first division he left Stralsund and played for TSG Friesenheim for four years . For the 2008/2009 season he moved to the southern second division SG BBM Bietigheim . From summer 2012 Kibat ran for SV Henstedt-Ulzburg . In the 2016/17 season he joined SV Henstedt-Ulzburg as HSG Nord HU. He then joined the Oberliga HSG Baltic N / G to. With the HSG Ostsee, he rose to the 3rd division in 2018 . Since the 2019/20 season he has been working as a coach for the upper division TSV Ellerbek .

Kibat played three international matches for Germany's B selection . Before that, he played 24 games in the DHB junior team.

Kibat trained the A-youth at SV Henstedt-Ulzburg from summer 2017 until the end of the 2018/19 season.
