Nico Schneck (born October 6, 1987 in Pfullendorf ) is a German football player and coach. Most recently, he worked under Heiko Herrlich as an assistant coach at Bundesliga club Bayer 04 Leverkusen .

Career

The midfielder Nico Schneck began his active career at SC Tuttlingen . In January 2008 he moved back to his youth club SC Pfullendorf . There he played for a year in the second team and was part of the first team's squad from January 2009. Here he developed into a regular player in the Regionalliga Süd . During this time, Schneck played 43 times for the first team and scored four goals. For the 2011/12 season he moved to Arminia Bielefeld , where he was initially intended as a perspective player for the second team playing in the NRW League . He made his debut in the first team on August 2, 2011 in the away game of the 3rd division at VfL Osnabrück .

In the summer of 2012 he moved to SV Rödinghausen , with whom he rose from the Westphalia League to the Oberliga Westfalen . In the league season 2013/14 the promotion to the Regionalliga West followed ; Schneck was involved with nine goals in 31 games.

His contract expired on June 30, 2015. Schneck then moved to Arminia Bielefeld's second team . At the same time as he left Arminia, he finished his studies in sports science at Bielefeld University .

In June 2016, Schneck moved to SSV Jahn Regensburg as an assistant trainer in Heiko Herrlich's team . The team - which had previously been promoted from the Regionalliga Bayern - managed to march through to the 2nd Bundesliga via relegation against TSV 1860 Munich . During the 2016/17 season, Schneck also played ten times for the club's second team in the Bayern League. After the promotion he left the club together with Herrlich and thus ended his career as an active football player.

From July 2017 to December 2018 he worked again under Herrlich as an assistant coach, this time at Bundesliga club Bayer 04 Leverkusen .
