Nicola Sala
Nicola Sala (born April 7, 1713 in Tocco Caudio , † August 31, 1801 in Naples ) was an Italian composer of the Neapolitan school .
Life
Nicola Sala studied from 1732 to 1740 at the Conservatorio della Pietà de 'Turchini with Nicola Fago and Leonardo Leo . He then worked there as a teacher and from 1787 as a Primo Maestro . His students include Giacomo Tritto , Giacomo David , Valentino Fioravanti , Gasparo Spontini and Vincenzo Pucitta .
Sala composed eight works for the stage, several cantatas and masses , as well as the oratorio Giuditta, ossia La Betulia liberata . He also wrote several didactic works, including Regole del contrappunto pratico (Naples 1794).
