Club career

Nicolai Lorenzoni was born in Switzerland, but learned to play football in Herten (Rheinfelden) . He later played for the Swiss top club FC Basel and was the captain of the D youth team. Friends, other hobbies and his achievements at school suffered from training and Lorenzoni said he had problems dealing with it. From then on Lorenzoni played for his hometown club SV Herten in the district class. In his opinion, the move to the Hertenern was “the best thing” he “can do.” According to his own statement, the dream of a career in professional football was “a long way off”, but he rediscovered his passion for it Football after he was back on the pitch "with his old teammates".

As a 17-year-old he finally went to the football school of SC Freiburg, where he was initially part of the U-17 squad. He soon made it to the U-19s, and in the spring of 2011 he was in the squad in two professional games without being used. In the 2010/11 season he also won the junior club cup with the A-Juniors trained by Christian Streich . He himself was a regular player and also played through in the final; in the endgame he was considered the most conspicuous player. For the 2011/12 season he was promoted to the club's second team, where he was also part of the team.

In the 2013/14 season he was reported as one of 13 players in the second team for the Europa League squad. On the third match day of the group stage against GD Estoril Praia , he was preferred to Christian Günter and thus came to his first professional game. On December 1, 2013, he made his Bundesliga debut in the away game against Borussia Mönchengladbach when he came on for Francis Coquelin in the 82nd minute . In the 2014/15 season he was no longer a member of the Freiburg professional squad.

In August 2014, he completed a trial training at SC Preußen Münster , but was not obliged. Half a year later he presented to the third division Chemnitzer FC and was finally signed by them until summer 2016. After a stopover at TuS Koblenz in the 2017/18 season, he moved on to FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt in the Regionalliga Nordost in 2018 . He stayed here for a season before joining the SSV Sand 1910 eV club from the Hessen- North Association League. On July 1, 2020, Lorenzoni joined the Lichtenauer FV from Hessisch Lichtenau , which had managed to move up from the Kassel II group league (Hessen) to the Hessen-Nord association league due to the quotient regulation .

National team

In the late summer of 2011, Lorenzoni played in an international game for the German U-20 national team. He made his debut on August 31 of that year in a 4-2 win over Poland .
