Nicolas Bedos
Nicolas Bedos (born April 21, 1979 in Neuilly-sur-Seine ) is a French actor, film director and playwright and screenwriter .
Life
Nicolas Bedos was born on April 21, 1979 in Neuilly-sur-Seine . He is the son of comedian, actor, musician and screenwriter Guy Bedos . During his school days, Nicolas Bedos was a student at a bilingual international school and then at the Lycée Pasteur in Neuilly-sur-Seine.
At the age of 18, Bedos was hired as artistic advisor by Alain De Greef, the program director of Canal + . In 2000 he and his father wrote several skits for his show, which was shown for the first time at the Olympia and then went on tour throughout France. At the age of 24, Bedos wrote his first play entitled Sortie de scène . This was brought to the stage by Daniel Benoin with the actors Cyrille Eldin , Jean-Louis Tribes , Elisabeth Margoni , Gabrièle Valensi and Bedos' father. The world premiere took place in April 2004 at the Théâtre national de Nice, after which it was shown from January 2005 at the Théâtre Hébertot in Paris. This piece earned him a first media presence for his work, and among others he was invited by Thierry Ardisson together with his father to the talk show Tout le monde en parle . He then wrote Eva , a play about a successful writer in her fifties who is dying. This was performed under the direction of Daniel Colas from January 2007 with the actors Niels Arestrup , Benjamin Bellecour , Linda Hardy and Brigitte Catillon in the Théâtre des Mathurins. The latter was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in 2007 for her work with the Molière . Despite positive criticism, this piece was a failure.
Bedos' film The Best Time of Our Life premiered in May 2019 at the Cannes International Film Festival and was released in French cinemas in November 2019. In November 2019 he was also included in the 10 Directors to Watch by the industry journal Variety .
From a previous marriage he has two daughters with Joëlle Bercot , a former dancer.
