Nicolaus Hadermann (born November 2, 1805 in Philippseich near Dreieichenhain , † August 11, 1871 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German educator , journalist and politician of the Free City of Frankfurt .

Nicolaus Hadermann studied theology at the University of Tübingen and later in Erlangen . During his studies he became a member of the Germania Tübingen fraternity in 1824 and a member of the Arminia fraternity in Erlangen in 1827 . After completing his studies, he worked as a teacher in Frankfurt. Among other things, he was a teacher at the model school from 1830/31 and from 1837 to 1839 . In 1844 he was the founder of Hadermann's medical and gymnastic institute for girls.

Nicolaus Hadermann was one of the city's leading liberals in the revolution of 1848/1849 in the Free City of Frankfurt . In 1846 he was a co-founder of the Montagskranzchen and in 1848 of the German Association.

On August 24, 1848, he was elected to the 30-member constitutional committee at the suggestion of the Monday wreath and the German Association. On October 25, 1848, the citizens elected him to the Constituent Assembly of the Free City of Frankfurt . There he was first vice-president until January 8, 1849, first vice-president between January 8, 1849 and May 14, 1849, and from May 14, 1849, as successor to Ernst Friedrich Wilhelm Kugler, president of the meeting until its end.

On December 9, 1848 he was the founder of the Volksblatt für Rhein und Main , which appeared from 1854 as a popular friend for central Germany . In 1866 the paper was banned after it was annexed by Prussia.

From 1867 until his death he was a city councilor in Frankfurt am Main. He is buried in the main cemetery in Frankfurt .
