Nicuşor Luşneac (born March 7, 1989 in Galați ) is a Romanian ice hockey player who has been under contract with Steaua Bucharest in the Romanian ice hockey league since 2017 .
Career
Club
Nicuşor Luşneac began his career at CSM Dunărea Galați , for whom he made his debut in the Romanian ice hockey league as a 16-year-old . From 2008 he played at Steaua Bucharest , with whom he won the Romanian Ice Hockey Cup in 2008 and 2011 , in both the Romanian Ice Hockey League and in 2008/09 and from 2010 to 2012 in the multinational MOL League . After he stopped playing there at the beginning of the 2016/17 season, he left the capital city club in January 2017 and returned to his hometown, where he ended the season at CSM Dunărea. He then returned to Bucharest.
International
Lușneac already played in the junior division for Romania: In 2006 he took part in Division III of the U18 World Championships when he was promoted to Division II, in which he was then on the ice in 2007 . At the U20 World Championships in 2007 , 2008 and 2009 he also played in Division II.
Luşneac made his debut in the men's national team in the Olympic qualification for the Winter Games in Vancouver 2010 , in which the Romanians were eliminated in the first round at the tournament in Sanok, Poland, in November 2008 with three clear defeats. He only came to his first world championship tournament in Division I in 2014 when the team was relegated. At the 2017 World Cup he was used again in Division II and was promoted to Division I. In addition, he also represented his colors in the Olympic qualification for the Winter Games in Pyeongchang 2018 , but when the decisive qualification level could not be reached either.
