history
The oldest surviving documentary mention in a tithe register of the parish Schlossborn as Gospach villa inferior dates from the years 1226–1239. In the regional dialect, as in the neighboring town of Oberjosbach, Gusbach or Guzbach is still used as a place name. The spelling Nieder Jospach has been attested since 1619.
Niederjosbach was founded probably in the 11th / 12th. Century by the parish of Schlossborn of the St. Stephen's Foundation in Mainz. The place went as a fief to the rule Eppstein , but was back on Electoral Mainz City and was at the time of the Duchy of Nassau for office Idstein .
During the Reformation, as in the entire Eppstein rule, the Protestant denomination was introduced. With the beginning of the Electoral Mainz rule, the place became Catholic again from 1604.
On December 31, 1971 Niederjosbach and Bremthal involuntarily merged to form the new Bremthal community. This went on January 1, 1977 in the city of Eppstein. Niederjosbach lost around 90 hectares of its district in the process. District enclaves and the community forest went to Niedernhausen and the area at Küppel to Oberjosbach.
Transport and infrastructure
Niederjosbach is on the L 3026, which leads from Niedernhausen in the northwest to Bremthal and the core town of Eppstein in the southeast. The Niedernhausen junction of federal motorway 3 can be reached in about three minutes. There are bus connections to the Wiesbaden transport network.
In addition, the place is on the Main-Lahn-Bahn and has an S-Bahn stop on the S2 line. With the S-Bahn you can reach Frankfurt am Main in about half an hour.
There is an industrial area and several craft businesses as well as a kindergarten. The Catholic community center "Am Honigbaum" is used not only for church events but also for private and other social events.
Culture
In Niederjosbach there is a year-round open campsite, the terraced "Taunuscamp" on the sunny slope. The GCC (Gusbach Carnival Club) organizes a remarkable parade through the village on Shrove Tuesday, which is organized by the local clubs - a sports club, two choral clubs, the shooting club , fruit and gardening club , church choir, volunteer fire brigade , local DRK club - and the neighboring communities .
