Nikolai Pavlovich Pronin ( Russian: Николай Павлович Пронин ; born April 13, 1979 in Moscow , Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey player and current coach .

Career

Nikolai Pronin began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth team of HK CSKA Moscow , where he was under contract in the Super League from 1996 to 2005 . Only during the 1998/99 season did the attacker play in North America for the Thunder Bay Thunder Cats from the United Hockey League and the Charlotte Checkers and Toledo Storm from the East Coast Hockey League .

From 2005 to 2009, the former international was on the ice for Chimik Moskovskaya Oblast , for which he scored a total of 21 scorer points, including 11 goals, in 62 games of the newly founded Continental Hockey League in the 2008/09 season . For the 2009/10 season , the left shooter received a contract with his league rivals HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk .

Between 2010 and 2012 Pronin was again under contract with CSKA before the now 33-year-old was signed by Rubin Tyumen in September 2012 . For Rubin Pronin completed two games in the Vysschaya Hockey League and was then signed by Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg in the same month .

From July 2018 to summer 2020 Pronin was Sergei Swetlow's assistant coach at Admiral Vladivostok . Then he moved to HK Sochi .

International

For Russia Pronin took part in the 2004 World Cup, where he finished tenth with his team.
