Nikolai Will (born May 25, 1981 in Kulmbach ) is a German actor , film producer and radio play speaker

Life

Nikolai Will was already playing in a fairy tale play in the church group at the age of 4 or 5, and later in various school theater groups. As a teenager he played at the Stadttheater Würzburg in the youth club of the theater. At the age of 16 he came to the Theater ensemble Würzburg through a newspaper advertisement , where he took part in a workshop and was then accepted into the ensemble. With the theater ensemble Würzburg, of which he was a permanent actor from 1998 to 2002, he played several leading and supporting roles in theater literature.

From the age of 18 he received private acting lessons from 1999 to 2002 with Andreas Buettner from the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin .

In 1999 he appeared at the Burgfestspiele Gemünden (Scherenburg Festival) as the lion rabbit heart in The Wizard of Oz . In 2000 he performed at the Mainfranken Theater in Würzburg , a. a. as the son of Olaf Bernick in Henrik Ibsen's play Stützen der Gesellschaft . He had other theater engagements at the Werkstattbühne Würzburg (1999–2003), the Omega Theater Würzburg (2003), the Arkadaş Theater in Cologne (2005/2006), the Studiobühne Cologne (2005), the Freie Werkstatt Theater Cologne (2008) and at the Theater der Keller (2008).

Between 1999 and 2019 he took part in over 300 speaking roles in film, television, theater and advertising productions. He has now appeared in over 100 short films. In 1999 he played the role of a mentally handicapped in the short film Seeking Philipp , for which he won the Bavarian Youth Film Prize in 2000. In 2010 he was awarded the “Golden Rhine Mermaid” for the role of an autistic in the short film Here Rupert speaks . In 2015 he was named “Horror Film Actor of the Year” by the Internet portal “Horrorfilmdarsteller.de”.

In film and television, Will is mainly used as a supporting actor, embodying very different types of roles, from customers, salespeople, computer technicians, investigators, doctors and family men to soldiers, psychopaths and military personnel. He also took on numerous comedy roles. In the fairy tale film Die Salzprinzessin (2015) he played host Willi.

Since 2016 Will has also worked as a radio play speaker.

In 2018 Nikolai Will shot the web series Anecdotes from my tragic life under his own direction and in collaboration with Tobias S. Freyer , which was published on Instagram and Facebook as well as on YouTube .

The short film without you , produced by Nikolai Will, was nominated for the "Shocking Shorts Award" 2019 at the Munich Film Festival. Will was also nominated for Best Actor and Producer for the Short Film Awards (The Sofies) in New York. In 2019 Will's short film production Heiße Luft was made , which was first broadcast on MDR .

Nikolai Will has been shooting the web series Mandy and Wilfried in collaboration with Vanessa Flüchter since 2020 , which is continuously published on Instagram and Facebook.

Nikolai Will lives in Cologne.
