The Nikolaus Geyrhalter Filmproduktion GmbH (short: NGF Geyrhalterfilm) is an Austrian film production company based in Vienna .

History and structure

NGF Geyrhalterfilm was founded in 2003 by the director, cameraman and producer Nikolaus Geyrhalter with Markus Glaser, Michael Kitzberger and Wolfgang Widerhofer as partners, after having produced his own films and several others as a sole proprietorship since 1994. Geyrhalter is managing director and still active in the field of direction and camera; the production area is led by Markus Glaser and Michael Kitzberger; Wolfgang Widerhofer is in charge of editing, dramaturgy and story development. In addition, there are four other permanent employees in the areas of production management, public relations and rental. The NGF Geyrhalterfilm is a member of the Association of Austrian Filmproducers .

Productions

NGF Geyrhalterfilm specializes in the production of documentaries and feature films for cinema and television. The focus is on working with directors and authors with a “distinctive and innovative handwriting”.

The first years of the company were devoted exclusively to documentary film production. Works such as Pripyat  (1999), Over the Border  (2004), Our Daily Bread , Abendland  (2011) or Master of the Universe  (2013) are examples of around 45 cinema and television documentaries. In 2008, Goisern Goes East was the first television documentary series, and the Reiseckers Reisen series has been produced in several seasons since 2010 . In 2010 the NGF produced its first feature film: The Robber by Benjamin Heisenberg had its world premiere in the competition at the 60th Berlinale . In 2011 he was followed by Michael von Markus Schleinzer , who was invited to the 2011 Cannes competition. Also in 2011 was made in the early 80s by Hiebler and Ertl, which was shown in cinema and television.
