Nils Althaus

Nils Althaus (born May 10, 1981 in Bern ) is a Swiss songwriter and actor .

Life

Althaus grew up in Bern and Gümligen . He started playing the cello at the age of six . While studying biochemistry in Zurich , Althaus wrote songs and accompanied himself on the guitar. He then appeared as a chansonnier in Bern and St. Gallen and starred in advertising films. In 2007 he released his first music album Fuessnote with sixteen chansons, all of which were recorded live.

He played the leading role in the controversial movie Breakout (2007) by director Mike Eschmann . For this he was named Shooting Star 2007 by Swiss Films and presented to a larger audience at the Berlinale .

Nils Althaus played a hip-hopper in Breakout , a taxi driver in Happy New Year , a stable boy in Robbers (2009), and a bank robber in Im Sog der Nacht (2009). He was nominated for the Swiss Quartz Film Prize for his acting performances in Breakout and Happy New Year .

In March 2009, Althaus started his second program as a singer-songwriter.

In 2012 he played the Bernese city original Dällebach Kari in the film Eine wen iig, dr Dällebach Kari . Since summer 2013 he has been teaching alongside his PH degree at the Burgdorf high school.
