Nina Kennedy (born April 5, 1997 in Busselton ) is an Australian athlete who specializes in the pole vault .

Athletic career

Nina Kennedy gained her first international experience at the 2013 World Youth Championships in Donetsk , where she finished fifth with a jump of 4.05 m. In 2014 she participated in the Junior World Championships in Eugene , where she finished fourth with 4.40 m. In 2015 she qualified for the World Championships in Beijing , where she did not achieve a valid level in the qualification , as well as at the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz the following year. In 2018 she qualified for the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham , where she finished eighth with a height of 4.60 m. She then took part for the first time in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast and won the bronze medal there with 4.60 m behind Canadians Alysha Newman and Eliza McCartney from New Zealand.

In 2018, Kennedy became Australian champion in pole vault. She is studying behavioral science at the University of Notre Dame Australia .
