biography

Career

In 2001 Nivea released her debut album entitled "Nivea" on Jive Records . The record produced two more or less successful singles: "Don't Mess With The Radio" and the track "Don't Mess With My Man", recorded with the R&B group Jagged Edge , two songs that were less successful in the charts, but were all the more popular with radio stations. From an edition that was re-released because of the great success of the second single, the Neptunes track “Run Away” and “Laundromat”, a duet with R. Kelly, were also released in the USA .

In April 2005 , after a long creative break, the album Complicated followed , but due to Nivea's pregnancy and the limited promotion campaigns, it fell far short of expectations. While sales in the USA could still be promoted with the pre-single "Okay" produced by Lil Jon , the promotion was dropped entirely internationally (also in Germany). The corresponding mediocre sales figures were not without consequences: After a few arguments, Nivea terminated their contract with Jive Records at the end of 2005. As a result, the two planned singles "Parking Lot" and "Complicated" were not released.

In 2006 Nivea finished work on her third album Animalistic , which was produced by her then husband, The-Dream , and Bryan Michael Cox, among others . T-Pain and the rapper Pitbull also contributed songs.
