nl specifically was a paperback series of non-fiction books from the East Berlin publishing house Neues Leben , which was aimed at teenagers and young adults. The series appeared from 1971 - initially with the subtitle Interesting Facts for Young People - and from 1974 regularly as nl concrete . Each booklet had a length of approx. 200 pages and dealt with a current topic, often with means of propaganda . A few selected titles were published as licensed editions by Pahl-Rugenstein Verlag in West Germany .
