Wolfram Adolphi

Wolfram Adolphi (born January 6, 1951 in Leuna ) is a German journalist and political scientist . From 1990 until his work as an unofficial employee of the GDR State Security became known in 1991, he was chairman of the PDS regional association in Berlin .

Life

Adolphi acquired a cattle breeder's certificate as a skilled worker in addition to his Abitur. From 1971 to 1976 Adolphi studied foreign policy at the Institute for International Relations at the Academy for Political Science and Law in Potsdam-Babelsberg. In 1976 he wrote his diploma thesis on the subject of "France's China Policy in the 1970s". From 1976 to 1980 he was a researcher at the Asian Studies section of the Humboldt University in Berlin (HU). In 1980 he presented his dissertation on the subject of "On the impact of the relationship between the USA and the PR China in Southeast Asia in the 1970s". He then worked from 1980 to 1985 as a correspondent for the foreign policy weekly newspaper Horizont in Japan . In this position he spied on the intelligence department of the Ministry for State Security (MfS). Between 1985 and 1988 he worked again as a scientific aspirant at the HU. From 1987 to 1988 he was studying in China at Beijing daxue, Peking University , and at Di'er lishi dang'anguan, the Second Historical Archive, in Nanjing . As a senior assistant, he took up the post of SED party secretary at Humboldt University in 1988 . In 1989 he defended his dissertation B on "Fascist Germany's China Policy". In May 1990 he moved into the city ​​council of (East) Berlin for the PDS .

In 1990 he became the first chairman of the Berlin PDS regional association and a member of the Berlin House of Representatives . After parents' representatives at his children's school suspected him of being involved in the Stasi, Adolphi made his collaboration with the MfS public in June 1991. Although the regional association gave him a majority of 128 to 59 votes, Adolphi was forced to resign his mandate on August 22, 1991 under pressure from within the party. He was succeeded by André Brie , who also previously worked for the MfS . The Humboldt University in Berlin also dismissed him in 1991 without notice.

Since then, Adolphi has worked as an editor for the magazine “Utopie Kreativ”, from November 2003 to October 2005 he worked for the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung in public relations . Since 2005, as he was from 1999 to 2002, he has been a research assistant in the Bundestag for MP Roland Claus ( Die Linke ). He is part of the editorial team of Das Argument .
