history
The Johannes-Kepler-Gymnasium emerged from the former Latin school, which was probably founded in the 15th century. In 1891 the school became a grammar school, in 1912 it moved into the school building that is still in use today and in 1937 it was named after Johannes Kepler .
In 1904, Gertrud Stockmayer , Hedwig Dinkel , Anna Stettenheimer and Martha Vollmöller, as external students from the Stuttgart Girls' High School, were the first female high school students in Württemberg to take their Abitur.

The schoolhouse, which is located in the center of Bad Cannstatt near the spa gardens, was built in 1912 according to plans by the architects Ludwig Eisenlohr and Oscar Pfennig . It is adorned with sculptures by Ulfert Janssen and Jakob Brüllmann .
Profiles
In the fifth grade, only the foreign language English, which was already taught in elementary school, is continued, in grade 6 either Latin or French is added. Pupils who chose Latin in Grade 6 can later opt for the language profile with French as their third foreign language or for the science profile, which automatically applies to the other students.
