The Königin-Charlotte-Gymnasium (KCG for short) is a public high school in Stuttgart .
history
The school was founded in 1914 as "Städtische Mädchenschule III" at Heusteigstrasse 97. In 1915 it was renamed Queen Charlotte Realschule. Charlotte zu Schaumburg-Lippe (1864–1946) was the last queen of Württemberg. The construction of the new school building in Zellerstraße lasted from 1918 to 1921, into which the school moved on October 13, 1921. In 1939 the school was closed because the war broke out . In 1943 the lower and middle school girls were evacuated to Reutlingen . In 1945 the school started again in Stuttgart as a mathematics and science high school. In 1957 new curricula were introduced. The Königin-Charlotte-Gymnasium was the first school in Stuttgart to set up a musical train. In the artistic upper level, music and visual arts are core subjects and compulsory examination subjects in the Abitur . This train was discontinued in 1970 due to a lack of students. In 1972 construction began on the Rembrandt school center in Stuttgart-Möhringen , which the school moved into on April 5, 1974. Project days have been held since 1981 , and Japanese has been taught as an AG and in the course level since 1987. In 1992, Spanish was introduced as a third foreign language. In 1994 there were no Saturday classes. In 1999 the subject of natural phenomena was introduced for the fifth and sixth grade. In 2001 the 8-year high school started parallel to the 9-year high school . In 2004 Andrea Funke-Fuchs took over the management. The historian Heiger Ostertag , who also emerged as a writer, is one of the school's well-known teachers .
