Noah Bowman (born May 8, 1992 in Calgary ) is a Canadian freestyle skier . He starts in the halfpipe discipline .

Career

Bowman made his debut in the Freestyle Skiing World Cup in January 2009 in Les Contamines and finished 19th. Since the 2009/10 season he has also participated in competitions on the AFP World Tour . He reached his first podium finish in August 2010 with third place at the New Zealand Freeski Open in Cardrona . In the same month he became World Junior Champion in Cardrona . At the 2011 Freestyle Skiing World Championships in Park City , he finished 11th. In the 2011/12 season, which he finished in fourth place in the Halfpipe World Cup, he came second in the US Grand Prix and World Cup in Mammoth . He won the silver medal at the 2012 Winter X Games in Aspen . In March 2013 he reached tenth place at the Freestyle Skiing World Championships 2013 in Voss . That same month, he finished third in the Sierra Nevada . In the 2013/14 season he came in second place at the World Cup in Calgary . In his first Olympic participation in Sochi in 2014 , he finished fifth in the first-ever halfpipe competition.

At the Winter X Games 2017 in Aspen , he won the bronze medal on the superpipe. In March 2017, he finished sixth at the Freestyle Skiing World Championships in Sierra Nevada . In the 2017/18 season he came second in Copper Mountain and first place in Tignes , taking 18th place in the overall World Cup and third place in the Halfpipe World Cup. The Winter X Games 2018 in Aspen, he finished sixth and at the Winter Olympics in 2018 in Pyeongchang fifth. The following year he won the bronze medal at the World Championships in Park City and was sixth at the Winter X-Games . In the 2019/20 season he achieved two second places and a third and first place each, second place in the overall World Cup and the Halfpipe World Cup. He finished eighth at the Winter X Games 2020 .
