Noether Lecture

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Noether Lecture is an annual honor by the Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) in the USA for women who have made fundamental and lasting contributions to mathematics. It is named after the German mathematician Emmy Noether (1882–1935) and is associated with a one-hour lecture held at the Joint Mathematics Meetings of the American Mathematical Society (AMS) in January. Since April 2013 the Noether Lecture has been renamed "AWM-AMS Noether Lecture"; from 2015 onwards it is jointly funded by the Association for Woman in Mathematics and the American Mathematical Society.

There is also an ICM Emmy Noether Lecture .
