Nogales is a city in Santa Cruz County , Arizona , United States , of about 20,500 residents. It is the seat of the county administration. The urban area has a size of 53.9 km².
Nogales is right on the border with Mexico . Nogales is considered to be the most important border town between Arizona and Mexico. Opposite it is the much larger Mexican Nogales in the state of Sonora . See also: United States-Mexico border

Although Nogales belongs to Arizona, Hispanics dominate the city given its border location : according to the US census of 2010, almost the entire population is classified as Hispanics. A significant part of the residents of Nogales are Mexicans. Most of the shops in the small city center are labeled in Spanish.
