Nogueira is a municipality ( freguesia ) in the Portuguese district of Lousada . It has 1251 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).

history

Today's municipality was officially mentioned for the first time in a document in 1114. In the royal surveys, Nogueira was already listed as a separate municipality in 1258. In the registers from 1758 the community belonged to the district of Unhão . Since the various administrative reforms after the Liberal Revolution in 1822 , in which the Unhão district was dissolved, Nogueira has belonged to the Lousada district.

Culture and sights

The parish church Igreja Paroquial de Nogueira ( also Igreja de Santa Cristina after its patron saint ), built in the 18th century and dating back to an older church, has a bell tower and shows a. Rococo - altarpiece .
